Happy New Year Pack 52!
I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and are ready to hit the ground running in 2019!! We are preparing for our second half of the year activities, so stay tuned for a lot of information. All of these activities take a lot of organization and volunteering to pull off, so if you’re able to help out with any of our activities, please let your Den Leader, or one of the Pack Leadership, know as soon as possible. On to the first updates of the New Year...

Hi Pack 52,
Just a short update this week as we close out 2018. It’s hard to be believe that 2018 is ending already. This is the perfect time of the year to remind your Scouts of a few key tenents of the Scout Law – being Friendly, Courteous, Cheerful, Helpful, Kind, and Reverent, during the holidays, and the season of giving. On behalf of the Pack Leadership, I hope you all have a joyous holiday break, and a very Happy New Year! Enjoy the time with your family and friends, as we’ll be preparing to get back underway in 2019! Hi Pack 52,
I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday! We have a lot to be thankful for as a Pack, and I’m still amazed at the generosity of everyone during the Thanksgiving Food Baskets! Not only did we fill seven baskets (almost twice as many as last year), we donated a lot of extra food as well! Thank you to everyone who participated in last week’s event!! Also, due to work commitments, I will be traveling the next two weeks, so the next Weekly Update will likely be on December 17th. Your Den Leaders will keep you informed of any news or scheduled changes for the next two weeks. Now, on to this week’s updates! Hi Pack 52,
Short update for a short, holiday week! There are no Den Meetings this week! The entire Pack 52 Leadership Team would like to wish everyone a very Happy and Safe Thanksgiving! Enjoy your time with family and friends this week! Read on for this week's updates! Hi Pack 52,
It’s hard to believe that we’re already closing in on the holidays and the end of 2018! It’s been a hectic couple of months and we’ll do our best to keep you informed on any schedule changes or updates as we move through the holidays! Read on for this week's updates! Hi Pack 52,
Despite the tornado warnings, and the cold morning on Sunday, we managed to get a great camping trip in this past weekend! I hope that everyone who attended had a great time! Thank you to all of the parents for your cooperation and patience while we were making last minute changes to the schedule due the weather changes. If you have picture you would like to share from this weekend, please send them to Jim Kimmel ([email protected]), and I will try to consolidate them on the website. There’s still a lot going on this month with a couple of service projects, and some schedule changes with the holidays coming. Read on so you’re up to date on what’s going and when. Hello Pack 52!!
Our Fall Family Camping Trip is coming up fast! Hope you are ready (and excited) for it! Click on for this week's updates! Hello Pack 52 Families!
I hope everyone was able to weather (no pun intended) the recent storms that impacted our area, even as we prepare for what may be Round 3. If any of you are still being impacted from the recent weather and require any assistance, please let us know! I would like to claim getting this newsletter out a bit late this month on an inclement weather delay, but since a Scout is Trustworthy, the reality is that these past few weeks have been extremely busy for me (even without the impact from the weather). That said, March is always an interesting month and the start of a time of change. We move into Daylight Savings Time as we start to move out of Winter, while Spring is not quite here, yet. As a Pack, we celebrate the anniversary of Scouting in March, as well as watch our oldest Cub Scouts take the next step in Scouting by becoming Boy Scouts. But before we get into this month's newsletter, I want to take a moment to thank a number of people who are moving on from the Pack this month as their sons cross over into Boy Scouts. Our Pack would not be where it is today with out the leadership and support from Chris Levesque, Dan Ring, and Tom Santoli who are some of, if not the, longest members of the Pack 52 family. Without their leadership, guidance, and participation, we would not be the Pack we are today. For our newer families, these three may not be as familiar to you, but you would have seen them at our Pack meetings, camping trips, and most of our outings. I can't thank them enough for getting us to this point and I congratulate them as they as well as their sons take on the challenges and opportunities at the next level of Scouting. If you see them at Den Meetings this month, or at the Blue and Gold Banquet, congratulate their sons,, but PLEASE thank them for everything they've contributed to the Pack over the last several years. They will be missed! Now, let's dig into this month! Happy New Year! It’s hard to believe that a new year has started and we’re already half way through our Scouting year. I am extremely proud of all the accomplishments that the Scouts have completed already.
As we start into 2018, and the weather (hopefully, soon!) starts to improve, we’re going to be getting into some of the neat activities that we have planned each year. We start off the new year with a sleepover at the Franklin Institute, then our next major fundraiser, the Super Bowl hoagie sale, will kick off shortly with the sale being held on Sunday, February 4th. Following that, we’ll have the Pinewood Derby and then the Blue and Gold Banquet in March. We have an action-packed Spring lined up, and I hope you’re all as ready and as anxious as I am to watch your scouts participate in all of these activities and continue earning their achievements along the way! Now, on to the good stuff! Here are our weekly updates for November 20, 2017:
Please note (additional information below): No Den Meetings this week. Instead, we'll be doing both Thanksgiving Food Baskets for Families in Need and Popcorn Sales Pick Up tonight, Monday, November 20th, from 6:30PM to 7:30PM in the Rectory Lounge at OLMC. |
